The Pre-College Art Experiance (Illustration Friday: A Hoard of Nudes)
These are some of my first assignments for my new online pre-college art program! Its been really hectic these last couple of days, trying to figure out just what I am doing. I have messed up and misread assignments, misread due dates (nothing is late thanks goodness), and have wanted to scream and rip it all up. But other than that, I am really happy with these classes. I am taking photography, still life painting, drawing, and animation. So far, the first three were pretty easy and are done. Animation, on the other hand, is a pain. I have no idea what I am doing right now, but as soon as I find out, Ill let you know!
These two (above) are "mass gesture forms." Basically, its a different way to view a form. You see it as a "mass" rather than the lines. The two (below) are "linear gesture forms." Pretty much normal drawing, I guess. I like linear better, but I obviously need to work on both. :P
And this, is my first real life- still life painting! I am really happy with it, and I am excited to see how much more I progress through the class.
This week, our only assignment for photography was to show your favorite photo and critique it. I chose an old man playing the violin. I really couldn't think of my all time favorite, so I chose one that was cool. :)
Well, as soon as I figure out my animation class, Ill post my work from it!

I HAVE FINISHED IT! HAHAHAHAHAH! YES!!! I have finished my animation project! It isn't a lot, but they will get better :]
Here is my first every animation movie: (all 3 seconds of it :D)
And this is one I made just for fun! :D
Here are more of the people I drew: (The ones I misread the assignment on)

The Forgotten World of June
I was walking the other day- something I hardly ever do anymore- and I stumbled upon a small path. It was ordinary and yellow, but I felt something – most likely my imagination- pull me down it. I was assaulted with visions of stories and tales that could take place on a path such as the one my green sneakers trotted on. I pulled my Polaroid camera from my bag, and pushed my glasses further up my nose. I was ready for my imaginary adventure.
I walked for a while, taking pictures of little bits of nature that inspired me and any story that happened to tickle my brain. Pictures of the roots of trees, all spiny and rotted; of my sneakers caked with red-orange mud; of flowers bent in such a way that brought images of couples kissing to the forefront of the mind. They all intrigued me for different reasons, but I knew they would find a place on my bedroom wall, just like the others. You see, I am a collector of stories and pictures that tell stories. I hang them on my wall or tuck them away in the big trunk at the foot of my bed. Then, at night, when I find myself unable to sleep, I pull them out and look at them and imagine.
So trips like these, bring great excitement and happy little flutters to my heart. But unlike the other trips, something remarkable happened on this trip. I had lost track of the time, of course, and by the time I realized it… the sun was hanging lowly in the sky. I found myself torn with the need to turn and head home, and my lust for more adventure. Dejectedly, envisioning my mother- red faced and worried- I turned home.
But once I turned, I found that there were two paths rather than the one yellow path I had originally came on. I looked up both of them, searching for something I remembered from my walk up to that point. However, lucky me, could see no difference in the paths. So I picked right. Because the “right” path should be on the “right”. Ha! Dodgy logic.
Needless to say, it was the wrong way. So instead of finding the field I would need to cross to get to my house, I found a trail of awkward colored mushrooms. I knew I shouldn’t, that I should go back and try the other path, but I promised myself I would do just that… in a few more minutes. First I wanted to see where the path of mushrooms led……
